As the students continued to illustrate the story that children from Joanna's EB wrote, we observed and studied various publications of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and noticed quite a variety between the way different illustrators depicted the characters in the fairytale. We studied bears, and observed that they look similar to dogs, and asked ourselves--what is different? We noticed that some illustrations of the Goldilocks character were almost photographically realistic, and others were stylized. The one consistent feature was her blond hair.
