Clay Houses

The students in the the upper school are laying out a city plan and creating the downtown buildings. My students in the lower school are using the slab technique to make the houses in the neighborhoods. They begin by rolling slabs of clay:

Then they cut pieces out to form the floor, walls and roof:

After that the children score the areas they want to attach:

And paint on slip that works like glue:

Soon we will have fired clay houses to put in the city!
