The Elements

This week we explored Jane Ray's book Earth, Fire, Water, Air and the children began tempura paintings of fire. The book reminded us that in our modern lives we rarely see fire. Maybe we experience the light and heat it emits from candles, the sun, a campfire, or a fireplace. It can be a destructive and frightening force in a forest fire or explosions. So the students painted fire on Wednesday and will continue to do so on Monday. Then we will think about water.
