With the new theme of systems, we spent a day exploring the drawings of a Tejubehan, a woman from India who draws in a folk style with black line and pattern. On Monday the children observed and mimicked her style and technique for a class period in their sketchbooks, as if they were learning new letters in an alphabet to figure out her system of drawing.

Then on Wednesday they began their own drawings, making the lines and patterns their own, for drawings of images such as a walk in the forest or garden, a movie theater, their home, a school setting, etc.
